I just met with some friends of mine who have suffered because a brother has engaged in alcohol and drug abuse. As a family they have often suffered in silence. He is addicted to alcohol and drugs and they don’t know where to go for help or treatment. Traditional alcohol and drug treatment centers are just too expensive.
They told me that at one point several years ago he overdosed on his drugs and alcohol and they had to rush him to the emergency room. The entire family was there to support them. They asked the doctors and nurses where they could turn for help with affordable alcohol and drug treatment that really worked and were given no options.
Still not sure where they could turn for help and uncertain what treatment options were the best for him they struggled on. As painful as it was, they couldn’t afford the thousands of dollars traditional treatment centers cost… so they did nothing but suffer and pray and hope and finally…. began to lose hope.
